Academics is an agency recruiting for a Specialist ICT Teacher to work within a SEMH and Trauma informed setting where students present SEMH needs in addition to some non-verbal students in Doncaster. This is an exceptionally important role in enabling engagement and education for some of the most vulnerable children in the Education and Training sector.
The role is for a Specialist ICT teacher working in an independent SEMH and Trauma informed setting in Doncaster. The setting has a bespoke curriculum, involving forest schools and drumming with purpose-built cabins to cater for sensory learning when required. Planning is required.
A Specialist ICT Teacher will work within multi-disciplinary teams with very small class sizes, there are a total of 15 pupils on site, with ages ranging from 6 to 16 years.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver personalised lessons
- Adapt learning to meet EHCP targets
- Support pupils with a range of SEN including ASC, ADHD and SEMH
- Promote positive behaviour and independence
- Work collaboratively with support staff and therapists
- Follow safeguarding procedures
- Maintain a calm, consistent and nurturing environment
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- Previous SEN teaching experience or strong knowledge of specialist education
- Understanding of Autism, ADHD, SEMH, SLD, PMLD and additional learning needs
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain)
- Ability to commute to Doncaster
