Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) - Dinas Powys
Academics are currently recruiting for an experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a primary school in Dinas Powys from Monday - Friday each week.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced HLTA who is confident leading a class, managing classroom behaviour and providing high-quality learning support. The successful candidate will also have strong experience working as an LSA and be comfortable taking responsibility for a class when required.
The Role
As an HLTA, you will be expected to:
- Lead lessons and take responsibility for a class when required
- Deliver engaging and effective learning activities
- Work closely with the class teacher to support pupil progress
- Provide targeted one-to-one and small-group support
- Use your LSA experience to support pupils with a range of learning needs
- Manage classroom behaviour confidently and consistently
- Adapt activities to meet different abilities and learning styles
- Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development
- Assist with planning and preparation where required
- Maintain a positive, inclusive and engaging classroom environment
- Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures
We're Looking For
- Previous experience working as an HLTA, LSA or experienced Teaching Assistant
- Strong experience supporting pupils within a primary school
- Confidence leading a class independently
- Experience delivering lessons or planned learning activities
- Strong behaviour management skills
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A calm, confident and adaptable approach
- Someone who can build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Full-time availability
Requirements
- Relevant HLTA/Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent experience
- Enhanced DBS - essential
- EWC registration - essential
- Right to work in the UK
- Relevant safeguarding and compliance checks
