Academics Ltd is working with a friendly and well-established school in Dartford to recruit a confident and professional School Receptionist for a full-time fixed-term rolling contract, starting in September 2026.
This is a fantastic opportunity for an organised and approachable receptionist to become an important part of a busy school office.
As the first point of contact for pupils, parents, visitors and staff, you will provide a welcoming and professional service while supporting the smooth running of the school's administrative functions.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome and assist visitors, parents, pupils and staff in a friendly and professional manner.
- Manage the school reception area, ensuring all visitors follow appropriate signing-in and safeguarding procedures.
- Answer incoming calls, respond to emails and deal with enquiries promptly and professionally.
- Complete general administrative duties including filing, scanning, data entry and correspondence.
- Maintain accurate pupil and school records using the relevant management information system.
- Support attendance administration and wider school office processes.
- Provide administrative support to the Senior Leadership Team and wider office team.
- Manage incoming and outgoing post, deliveries and general correspondence.
- Handle confidential and sensitive information appropriately.
Requirements
- Previous experience working as a School Receptionist, School Administrator or within a busy school office is essential.
- Experience using Arbor, SIMS or another school management system is desirable.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
- A professional, approachable and welcoming manner.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
