A specialist school in Tilehurst is seeking a compassionate Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join their team ASAP. The school supports children and young people with a range of complex learning and additional needs, providing highly personalised education and care.
As a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant, your responsibilities will include:
- Providing dedicated 1:1 and small group support to pupils with complex needs
- Supporting pupils with learning difficulties, ASD and communication needs
- Helping children develop their independence, confidence and social skills
- Supporting pupils to participate fully in lessons and school activities
- Using a calm and consistent approach to help pupils manage their emotions and behaviour
- Working closely with teachers and other members of the school's support team
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Complex Needs Teaching Assistant who wants to develop their experience within a specialist education setting. You will work as part of a supportive team and gain valuable insight into how education can be adapted to meet individual needs.
Previous experience supporting children or young people with additional needs is desirable, but the school is also open to candidates who demonstrate the right attitude, patience and willingness to learn.
