School Receptionist for a full-time temp-to-perm position starting ASAP .

This is an excellent opportunity for an organised, personable and experienced school receptionist to join a supportive school environment.

The successful candidate will be the first point of contact for pupils, parents, visitors and staff, playing a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient running of the school's front office.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for all visitors, parents, pupils and staff, providing a warm and professional welcome.
  • Answer and direct telephone calls, respond to emails and deal with enquiries efficiently.
  • Manage the school's reception area, ensuring visitors are signed in and safeguarding procedures are followed.
  • Carry out general administrative duties including filing, scanning, data entry and correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate pupil records using the school's management information system.
  • Support attendance administration and other day-to-day school office tasks.
  • Assist the Senior Leadership Team and wider administration team with general administrative support.
  • Manage incoming and outgoing post and deliveries.
  • Maintain confidentiality when handling sensitive information.
  • Ensure the reception area and front office are maintained to a professional standard.

Requirements

Previous experience working within a school reception or school office is essential.

  • Experience using

Arbor, SIMS or another school management system is desirable.

  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise a varied workload.
  • A friendly, professional and approachable manner.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Good understanding of safeguarding and confidentiality within a school environment.
  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
