The Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support learning across the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

You will assist with classroom activities, encourage early literacy and communication, and help children develop social skills and independence. Through play-based learning and individualised support, you will encourage pupils to explore new ideas, build relationships and grow in confidence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Observe children's progress and share feedback with the class teacher.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other school staff to meet pupils' needs.

  • Follow safeguarding procedures and promote children's safety and wellbeing.

Key Requirements

  • A genuine interest in Early Years education and child development.

  • A caring, patient and supportive personality.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • The ability to build positive relationships with young children.

  • Previous experience in a school, nursery or childcare setting is desirable.

  • Experience supporting children with SEN would be advantageous.

  • A proactive attitude and willingness to learn.

  • The ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply for one.

  • Availability to work on Mondays and Fridays.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare.
