Academics are currently recruiting for an experienced Deputy Room Leader to join a welcoming school-based setting in West Sussex, near Haywards Heath. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Early Years professional who is looking for a part-time position working three days per week, Monday to Wednesday, and who can start as soon as possible.
The successful candidate will support the Room Leader with the day-to-day running of the room, ensuring children receive a high standard of care, learning and development in a safe and nurturing environment.
The Role
- Support the Room Leader with the effective day-to-day running of the room
- Help to plan and deliver engaging, age-appropriate activities
- Support children's learning, development and wellbeing
- Build positive relationships with children, parents and colleagues
- Promote a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment
- Assist with observations, assessments and children's learning journeys
- Support and guide other members of the team where appropriate
- Follow safeguarding and nursery policies and procedures at all times
Requirements
- To be considered for this role, you will need:
- CACHE Level 3 Early Years qualification (or equivalent)
- Previous experience working as a Deputy Room Leader or in a similar senior Early Years position
- Strong knowledge of the EYFS
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting children's welfare
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to apply for one
- Two years of satisfactory references covering your relevant employment/education
