A supportive and inclusive primary school in Basingstoke is seeking a dedicated Mental Health Assistant to join their specialist provision, working with pupils who have a range of SEN and Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a Mental Health Assistant to gain practical, hands-on experience in a specialist school environment while working alongside experienced teachers, SEN professionals and therapists.

The Role

As a Mental Health Assistant, you will support children across primary age who may experience:

  • Autism and ADHD.
  • Anxiety and difficulties with emotional regulation.
  • Trauma-related behaviours.
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
  • Challenges with communication, relationships and engagement.

You'll help pupils develop emotional resilience, build confidence, manage their feelings and overcome barriers that may affect their learning and development.

  • Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
