EYFS Teaching Assistant - Barking & Dagenham

Academics are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic and adaptable EYFS Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Barking & Dagenham.

About the Role

As an EYFS Teaching Assistant in Barking & Dagenham, you will help create a positive, engaging and nurturing environment where children can learn through play, exploration and structured activities.

Your responsibilities will be split between Nursery and Reception, supporting classroom routines, assisting with learning activities and helping children develop their communication, confidence, independence and social skills.

This role would be ideal for someone who is flexible, proactive and able to respond positively to the changing needs of both age groups.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom support across Nursery and Reception.
  • Assist with EYFS activities and play-based learning.
  • Support children's communication, social and emotional development.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and independence.
  • Work closely with the class teacher and wider EYFS team.
  • Help prepare resources and maintain an engaging learning environment.
  • Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures.
  • Candidate Requirements
  • Previous experience working within an Early Years setting.
  • Flexibility to work across both Nursery and Reception.
  • Good understanding of EYFS learning and development.
  • Caring, patient and enthusiastic approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Enhanced DBS or willingness to apply.
