SEND Teacher - South Leeds in Holbeck

Who are we looking for?

A successful candidate will

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Have experience teaching within mainstream schools, specialist provisions, or alternative provisions.
• Have experience supporting pupils with a range of special educational needs and disabilities, including Autism, ADHD, SEMH, speech and language needs, and moderate to severe learning difficulties.
• Be confident in planning and delivering differentiated lessons that meet the individual needs of pupils.
• Be patient, compassionate, and committed to building positive relationships that encourage confidence and independence.
• Demonstrate resilience, flexibility, and a proactive approach to overcoming barriers to learning.

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons tailored to individual learning needs and EHCP outcomes where appropriate.
• Assess, monitor, and record pupil progress, adapting teaching strategies to maximise achievement.
• Foster pupils' academic, social, emotional, and communication development.
• Use positive behaviour management strategies to promote engagement, confidence, and independence.
• Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, SENCOs, parents, carers, and external professionals to deliver effective support.
• Create an inclusive classroom environment that celebrates every pupil's strengths and encourages participation.

• What we need from you
• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS/QTLS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
• Experience teaching pupils with SEND within a school or specialist setting.
• Two professional references.
• A valid Enhanced DBS Certificate or willingness to obtain one (assistance available).
• A strong understanding of safeguarding responsibilities and inclusive teaching practices.
