About the Role: Academic Appointments are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our primary schools in the area of BD5, BD3, BD2 and BD9. This full-time and part-time role starts ASAP and will continue through to December 2025. As an HLTA, you will work closely with teachers to support learning across the school, take on key responsibilities in the classroom, and help provide an enriching educational experience for our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the planning, preparation, and delivery of engaging lessons in collaboration with teaching staff
- Lead and supervise classes as needed, covering planned absences and supporting students in group and one-on-one settings
- Provide targeted intervention support to help students reach their learning goals
- Assist in assessing, tracking, and recording students’ progress
- Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment, promoting good behaviour and engagement
- Work closely with teachers and school staff to support the learning and well-being of all pupils
Requirements:
- A minimum of a Level 4 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning or equivalent
- HLTA status or experience as a teaching assistant with the ability to take on HLTA responsibilities
- Experience working in a primary school setting and confidence in leading small groups or whole classes
- Strong understanding of the primary curriculum and ability to adapt activities for diverse learning needs
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Passionate about education and committed to making a difference in students' learning journeys
