Academic Appointments are currently partnered with primary schools across the Wakefield and Pontefract area who are seeking full‑time and part‑time support staff to join dedicated and supportive EYFS, Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 teams. There are multiple, excellent opportunities to work within welcoming and positive school environments, supported by enthusiastic and creative teaching staff and strong senior leadership teams. Classrooms are focused on creating engaging and inclusive learning experiences for both pupils and practitioners.
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
- Support teaching and learning across EYFS, KS1 or KS2
- Work collaboratively as part of a committed and resourceful team
- Help maintain a positive, engaging and inclusive classroom environment
- Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management skills
- Show flexibility, reliability and initiative in your approach
- Have high expectations of pupils' achievement and behaviour
Requirements:
- Hold a recognised Teaching Assistant qualification or have equivalent and relevant classroom‑based experience
- Have recent experience working in a primary school setting or with children in a professional capacity
- Hold a current Enhanced DBS registered with the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one (we can help with the application)
- Be able to provide two professional references (including your most recent employer)
- Demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills
