AcademiaOne (AO) is an education consultancy specialising in high-end, fully tailored PhD and research-focused services for ambitious students and professionals aiming for top universities. AO has been established since 2019, with offices in both China and the UK, combining global vision with deep local understanding. We go beyond basic application support by integrating academic strategy, research pathways and long-term development planning, working closely with PhD experts and researchers to help clients achieve real academic and career transformation.
This is a full-time, remote role for an Education Sales Consultant. Due to the client market and working hours, we are only able to consider candidates who are currently based in Mainland China and able to work full-time in China Standard Time (GMT+8).
You will be responsible for:
- Speaking with prospective clients (only in Mandarin Chinese) to understand their background, goals and needs in relation to PhD and advanced education services.
- Clearly explaining AcademiaOne’s high-end education services, guiding clients through our process, and helping them make informed decisions.
- Leading the full sales cycle: from first contact and consultation, through follow-up and objection handling, to successful closing.
- Maintaining structured, accurate records of all sales activities, client conversations and deal stages in our systems.
- Collaborating closely with research mentors and PhD experts, including experts from Oxford, Cambridge and Ivy League universities, to ensure a smooth handover and that clients receive the level of service promised during the sales process.
- Proactively building trust with clients, addressing concerns with professionalism and empathy, and supporting long-term relationships.
- Working on a flexible schedule, including some evenings and weekends, to match client availability and ensure timely communication in a remote setup.
Qualifications:
- 2–3+ years of proven sales experience, with evidence of past performance (e.g. deals closed, targets met, sales results).
- Experience in education sales or consulting is strongly preferred; experience with high-end education or advisory services is a plus.
- Fluent Mandarin (spoken and written) and good spoken English are required.
- Currently residing in Mainland China and able to work full-time in China Standard Time (GMT+8).
- Legally able to work in your country of residence.
- Bachelor’s degree or above from a recognised university; overseas study experience is preferred but not required.
- Strong skills in communication, objection handling, relationship-building and trust-building with clients.
- Highly organised, structured and comfortable managing multiple leads, follow-ups and records in a remote environment.
- Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with an expert academic team.
This role is not suitable for candidates with only marketing/content experience and no real sales track record.
