We are recruiting for an HR Manager to join the senior management team at AC Hotel by Marriott Glasgow, home to The Collector's Hall and Hazel Restaurant, two standout destinations in the heart of the city. Located within Glasgow City Centre, our 245-bedroom hotel blends contemporary design with historic character. As HR Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the people strategy of one of Glasgow's most dynamic and exciting hotels, working closely with the General Manager and senior leadership team to champion our culture, develop our team, and ensure a best-in-class employee experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Be a key part of the senior management team, helping to keep the hotel running smoothly and making sure HR policies are followed.
  • Report directly to the General Manager and act as the main point of contact for all HR matters across the hotel.
  • Build and run a welcoming onboarding and induction programme so that every new team member gets a great start.
  • Make sure the hotel meets its people management responsibilities and keeps up with any changes in employment practices.
  • Oversee, manage, and monitor the progress of external training initiatives, driving leadership training, professional certifications, and apprenticeship programmes.
  • Offer expert guidance and counsel to all levels of management on HR best practices.
  • Support managers through disciplinary and grievance processes, making sure everything is handled fairly and in line with company policy.
  • Handle employee relations issues with care, helping to resolve problems and find the best outcome for everyone involved.
  • Produce clear, useful reports for senior management and the central office to help inform decisions.
  • Drive recruitment and selection efforts by crafting compelling job adverts, liaising with recruitment agencies, and conducting thorough interviews to identify top talent.
  • Manage all day-to-day HR admin across the full employee lifecycle, keeping records accurate and up to date.
  • Get involved in the hotel's sustainability and community efforts, including Green Tourism, charity projects, and team events.
  • Run the monthly payroll process, making sure all starters, leavers, and changes are handled accurately and on time.

  • Proven experience in a senior HR role within the hospitality industry would be an advantage or a similarly fast-paced environment.
  • A passion for people and hospitality, you lead with warmth, confidence, and professionalism.
  • Strong knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage at all levels.
  • Experience managing employee relations, payroll, recruitment, and training programmes.
  • Organised, adaptable, and able to thrive in a dynamic environment.
