We’re growing our Employee Benefits team in Aberdeen and are looking for an Employee Benefits Consultant, or a motivated trainee consultant with relevant financial services experience and the right potential to join Aberdein Considine Wealth. This is a fantastic opportunity to work with an established portfolio of SME clients, develop your expertise in workplace pensions and employee benefits, and play a key role in client‑facing presentations, employee engagement, and relationship management.

Collaborating with our established Employee Benefits team and reporting to our Head of Employee Benefits, you will support and develop a portfolio of corporate clients, with guidance, mentoring, and development available where a trainee route is appropriate. You will advise on workplace pensions, group risk, private medical insurance, and a wide range of other employee benefit solutions. Presenting to clients, employees, and stakeholders is a key part of the role, and support will be provided to help the right trainee candidate build confidence in this area. This is a full‑time, permanent role in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities

  • Managing client relationships to ensure a consistently high standard of service.
  • Building on our existing client base, generating referrals, and developing new relationships.
  • Advising on new and existing products and plans to meet client needs.
  • Delivering 1:1 pension education and guidance sessions with employees, supporting engagement with workplace benefits.
  • Presenting face to face, at workplace meetings, seminars, and client events; this is a key requirement of the role.
  • Travelling regularly to client sites across Aberdeen City and Aberdeenshire and across Scotland.
  • Providing ongoing support to clients on existing plans, including sourcing, reviewing, and recommending suitable benefit solutions.
  • Overseeing service delivery from the Employee Benefits Administration team, ensuring all delegated work is completed to a high standard and within agreed timeframes.

Qualifications

  • An experienced consultant within financial services, ideally specialising in workplace pensions and employee benefits.
  • We are also open to considering a trainee appointment for someone with relevant financial services experience, strong potential, and a genuine interest in developing a career in employee benefits.
  • Strong technical knowledge of workplace pensions, group risk, private medical and associated legislation, or the commitment and ability to develop this knowledge with support.
  • A clear and confident communicator, or someone with the willingness and potential to develop their presentation skills with clients, employees, and senior stakeholders.
  • Highly organised and detail‑oriented, with strong Microsoft Office skills and experience maintaining accurate records.
  • Committed to working within regulatory frameworks and delivering excellent client outcomes.

If you’re passionate about delivering excellent client outcomes and keen to develop your career within a supportive, experienced team, we’d love to hear from you.
