Leading Carrickfergus based Generator Installation & Maintenance Provider is looking for an individual to fill the role of a Diesel Generator Engineer to deliver projects across Northern Ireland. With a vast number of contracts managed in different sectors, there is plenty of room for progression and opportunities within the business. The successful candidate will have a background either from the Electrical Industry, Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or Diesel Fitting Industry. Previous experience from the Diesel Generator Industry is advantageous but not essential.
Responsibilities of the Role
- Reporting to the Operations Manager / Service Manager you will be tasked with providing maintenance, installation, diagnosis and repair across a range of diesel generator sets in Northern Ireland.
- Carry out Planned Preventative Maintenance.
- Carry out diagnostic, testing, and remedial works on generators and associated equipment.
- Provide call out cover for generator breakdowns on a rota based system.
- Projecting spares requirements for upcoming and planned work.
- Complete load bank testing of customer generator sets (electrical bias).
- Complete annual servicing and various engine repairs (mechanical bias).
- Ensure all health and safety, quality and environmental requirements are being complied with.
Qualifications Required
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrotechnical Installation, or equivalent (electrical bias).
- IEE 17th or 18th Edition Wiring Regulations (electrical bias).
- NVQ Level 3 in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, or equivalent (mechanical bias).
- Driving Licence.
Desirable Attributes
- Previous experience working with diesel generators / generator systems.
- Previous experience fault finding / commissioning diesel generator systems.
- Previous experience in control panel building.
- Previous experience working with various engines such as; Perkins, Caterpillar, MTU, Volvo, Mitsubishi, Cummins.
- Previous experience in the installation and modification of fuel systems / exhaust systems.
Package
Salary negotiable upon qualifications and experience. Overtime rate, on call rate, travel time. Company vehicle.
