Overview
We have a vacancy for a Senior Scientist to join the Bioassay team at our Cambridge (UK) site. In this primarily lab-based role you will be working as part of the Bioassay group on client-facing projects, and will have the opportunity to learn new techniques in a fast-paced but supportive environment.
Responsibilities
- To design and carry out routine and complex experiments as necessary
- To perform complex/novel techniques under supervision
- To manage own work schedule to ensure tasks are met within the expected timeframe
- To analyse and interpret your own data
- To be responsible for the quality of your own work
- To prepare data for, contribute to the drafting of reports and presentations
- To contribute to internal and client meetings
- To draft and contribute to Quality and Controlled documents
- To undertake any other duties relevant to the position and level
Qualifications
- BSc or MSc with a minimum of 3 years relevant experience in bioassay development and qualification/validation.
- Relevant laboratory experience, maintaining and passaging cell lines, and setting up biochemical (e.g. ELISA) and cell-based assays (e.g. proliferation, cytotoxicity, reporter) using fluorescence or luminescence plate-based methods.
- Demonstrated skills in MoA-based assay design and development using a DoE approach (e.g. use of JMP or equivalent), good troubleshooting skills.
- Strong data analysis and presentation skills, relevant statistical and regulatory knowledge to plan and execute assay qualification and validation.
- Experience with PK and/or ADA assays beneficial, but not essential.
- Be proactive and independent with good communication skills and high level of attention to detail.
- Be a committed team player able to work well within small teams or individually as well as contribute to the wider group.
£38,000 – £42,000 a year
