We are seeking a caring and responsible Childcare Assistant to assist a home-based Childminder. The ideal candidate will have a passion for child development and possess excellent communication skills in English. This role involves creating a positive atmosphere where children can learn, play, and grow while ensuring their safety and well-being.
Duties:
- Supervise, assist and support and care for children.
- Plan and implement age-appropriate activities that promote learning and development.
- Prepare and assist in preparation of meals.
- Maintain a safe environment by adhering to health and safety guidelines.
- Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding children's progress and behaviour.
- Support children's emotional needs through attentive listening and reassurance.
- Organise playdates or social activities to encourage socialisation skills.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in childcare, nannying, or teaching roles.
- First Aid Training.
- Must be able to pass a DBS check.
- Valid driving licence preferred but not essential.
- Be prepared to take part in ongoing training opportunities.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and age-specific needs.
- Fluency in English.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
- Compassionate, patient, and attentive nature with a genuine love for working with children.
- Ability to work flexible hours including occasional evenings or weekends if required.
- Certification in Paediatric or Level 2 child care safeguarding is preferred but not mandatory; training can be provided if necessary.
