We are now looking for a CNC Operator & Assembly Operative to join us on a full-time, permanent basis, working 40 hours per week, Monday – Thursday, 7am-4pm and Friday, 7am-1pm.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced CNC operator with strong knowledge of manufacturing and engineering processes to join our innovative organisation. With involvement across machining, assembly and process improvement, you’ll have the chance to broaden your practical machining experience and build a varied skill set within our specialist manufacturing environment.

As a CNC Operator & Assembly Operative, you will machine and assemble high-quality components for electrical connection and lighting products, ensuring production requirements and deadlines are met. You will set up and operate CNC mills, automated punch machines, pillar drills and other machinery to manufacture components from detailed engineering drawings. Selecting the correct tooling and materials, you will monitor quality throughout production, minimise waste and work to improve cycle times and efficiency.

Additionally, you will:

  • Assemble and sub-assemble products in line with works orders and specification sheets
  • Manage and maintain tooling and fixtures
  • Complete required gauging and production documentation
  • Undertake manual machining and hand finishing where required
  • Support and train new employees and agency staff

Please note, this role will involve manual handling activities.

About You

To be considered as a CNC Operator & Assembly Operative, you will need:

  • Previous experience of setting up and operating CNC machinery
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced environment
  • Experience in manual handling
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing and engineering processes
  • Detailed knowledge of products and materials
  • Excellent communication and listening skills
  • Strong organisational and planning skills, with a focus on service delivery
  • At a minimum, five GCSEs or equivalent
