Abstract Recruitment is currently recruiting an experienced Panel Beater / Panel Technician to join a busy automotive bodyshop in Corby. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced professional looking for a long-term role with a well-established company.
The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out high-quality vehicle repairs while meeting required standards, timescales and targets.
The Role
- Carrying out panel preparation, including sanding, masking and priming
- Repairing and preparing vehicles to a high standard before painting
- Checking panels for defects and ensuring all repairs meet the required quality standards
- Working on a variety of vehicles, from family cars to light commercial vehicles
- Following manufacturer, paint and material suppliers standards and processes
- Inspecting repair work before starting to ensure the correct repair standard is achieved
- Completing parts requisitions accurately
- Working efficiently to meet agreed timescales and productivity targets
- Providing guidance and technical support to junior technicians when needed
About You
- Previous experience as a Panel Beater, Panel Technician, Bodyshop Technician or similar
- Proven experience carrying out vehicle body repairs
- Strong knowledge of structural vehicle repair techniques
- Experience with MIG/TIG welding, bonding and related repair methods
- Excellent attention to detail and a strong focus on quality
- The ability to work independently and make decisions when required
- A professional attitude and pride in delivering high-quality workmanship
- A genuine interest in the automotive industry
