Abstract Recruitment is currently seeking experienced Multi-Trade Operatives for an exciting opportunity with a reputable client, covering Newbury, Reading, and Basingstoke. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm position offering a salary of £36,000 - £38,000 per year, with working hours Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.
We are seeking an experienced and reliable multi-skilled carpenter to join our team. The role involves working primarily in tenanted social housing properties across Newbury, Reading, Basingstoke or along the M3/M4 corridor, delivering high-quality maintenance repairs.
Key Responsibilities- Carrying out carpentry works to a high standard (core skill)
- Wall tiling
- General decorating (prep, painting, finishing)
- Basic plumbing tasks (e.g., sink connections, tap fitting)
- Installation of latex screeds and vinyl flooring
- Ensuring all work is completed safely, cleanly, and to tenant satisfaction
- Working respectfully in occupied (tenanted) properties
- Proven experience in carpentry/joinery (primary trade)
- Tiling and decorating
- Basic plumbing
- Floor preparation and vinyl laying
- Experience working in social housing / tenanted environments (important)
- Ability to manage work efficiently with minimal supervision
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Full, clean UK driving licence
- Good communication skills (especially when dealing with tenants)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Positive, professional, and enthusiastic attitude
