As a Senior Client Delivery Consultant, you’ll operate in a strategic, client-facing role responsible for leading the design and delivery of complex, technology-enabled solutions. This role owns the full lifecycle of client engagements, from early-stage discovery and solution shaping through to delivery, optimisation, and long-term value realisation. Operating as a senior point of accountability, the role combines deep technical understanding, delivery leadership, and commercial awareness to ensure solutions are robust, scalable, and aligned to client and organisational objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as a trusted advisor to clients and stakeholders, providing guidance on delivery approaches, technical considerations and best practice.
  • Lead discovery workshops and requirements gathering activities, translating business needs into technology solutions and delivery roadmaps.
  • Produce and oversee high-quality delivery artefacts, including SOWs, technical specifications and project documentation.
  • Define solution scope and collaborate with engineering and architecture teams to ensure solutions are technically feasible, scalable and aligned to client requirements.
  • Define, refine and prioritise requirements, ensuring clear backlogs, acceptance criteria and delivery priorities.
  • Own the successful delivery of large, complex, or high-risk client engagements.
  • Establish effective delivery governance, reporting structures and ways of working across projects and workstreams.
  • Lead cross-functional teams across engineering, QA, design, and third-party vendors.
  • Monitor delivery performance and drive continuous improvement across teams, processes and tooling.
  • Contribute to pre-sales and bid processes, shaping proposals and estimating delivery effort.
  • Manage project financials, change control and commercial performance while identifying opportunities for account growth and maintaining high levels of client satisfaction.
  • Manage delivery risks and ensure appropriate quality, testing and release management practices are followed.
  • Provide clear, data-driven reporting to stakeholders, including senior leadership.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Proven experience managing and delivering software or technology projects end-to-end, from discovery and requirements gathering through to delivery and handover, in a client-facing environment.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with the confidence to engage and influence senior stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and manage priorities, risks and scope effectively.
  • Strong technical literacy and understanding of software delivery lifecycles.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and multitasking skills.

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Background in software development, QA or another technical discipline.
  • Familiarity with AI productivity tools such as Claude, Cursor or ChatGPT.
  • Experience contributing to pre-sales, solution design or project estimation.

If you don’t meet every listed requirement but think you have the skills to fulfil the role, we still encourage you to apply. We’re looking for people with the right approach, mindset, and ability to grow.

Remuneration and Benefits

  • Flexible Hybrid working structure (3 days in office).
  • 25 days holiday rising an extra day a year up to 30 days.
  • Base salary commensurate with experience.
  • Vibrant Leeds City Centre office with games area, fully stocked kitchen, free food and drinks.
  • Regular social events, team lunches, and outings.
  • Benefits platform offering a range of retail and entertainment discounts.

How to prepare for a job interview at Abstract Group

Brush Up on Your Technical Skills

For an IT consulting role, be ready to demonstrate your technical prowess. You might face questions on systems integration, cloud technologies, or even troubleshooting specific software. If you have experience with tools like AWS, Azure, or even specific programming languages, make sure you can talk about them fluently.

Showcase Your Problem-Solving Approach

IT consulting is all about solving problems for clients. Think about how you can illustrate your approach to a past challenge using the STAR method (Situation, Task, Action, Result). It's a great way to show how you tackle complex issues and come up with effective solutions.

Know the Business Impact of IT Solutions

When discussing your experiences, focus not just on the tech solutions you implemented, but also on their business impact. Employers want to see that you can connect IT with organisational goals. Prep examples that highlight how your tech contributions improved efficiency or reduced costs for past clients or projects.

Prepare for Behavioural Questions

Since IT consulting often involves teamwork and client interactions, expect behavioural questions that assess your interpersonal skills. Be prepared with examples that demonstrate your adaptability, communication skills, and how you handle client feedback. Before the interview, think of situations where you worked closely with clients to create effective IT strategies or changes.
