Absolute Taste are looking for a talented Venue and Event Manager to join our fabulous team at Woods’ Silver Fleet; a selection of luxury hand-crafted river yachts & cruisers on the Thames. We are seeking someone dynamic and hardworking with catering experience, leadership/team management experience and most importantly a passion for all things food and drink.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will provide overall venue management across the fleet including the Silver Sturgeon, Silver Barracuda, and our new designer pier Woods Quay, development kitchen, and event space on the River Thames. This extraordinary space will provide an iconic home to the fleet in the heart of central London, and the successful applicant will be part of the next chapter of Woods’ Silver Fleet’s history.
The role will include operational development and delivery, client relations, staff training and health and safety.
As Venue Event Manager You Will Also:
- Be responsible for the event hospitality delivery across the fleet and site, ensuring seamless event delivery and positive client feedback.
- Source, mentor and develop the hospitality team.
- Be accountable for budget management on an event by event basis.
- Develop, maintain and coach both full time and temporary event staff.
- Strategically promote and implement sales growth, revenue increases and profitability, where possible.
- Work on continual development of processes and procedures.
- Act as an ambassador for Absolute Taste and the prestigious venues we work with, maintaining client relationships at all times.
- Maintain stock levels and taking responsibility for par levels, storage areas and stock counts across beverage and equipment.
- Build relationships with key suppliers.
- Maintain H&S policy and due diligence as designated by legislation and Absolute Taste’s internal specification, to include all relevant recording and documentation.

- Experience in event or venue management, ideally in high-end hospitality.
- Strong leadership and people management skills.
- Great attention to detail and confident problem-solving.
- Financial awareness with ability to manage budgets and stock.
- A passion for food, drink, and delivering premium experiences.
