Sales Support Administrator β Location: Darwen, Lancashire. Salary: Β£25,000 β Β£28,000 discretionary bonus. Hours: Monday β Friday, full time. Start: ASAP (February ideal).
The Opportunity
We are looking to recruit a Sales Support Administrator to join a busy and well-established internal sales team within a successful distribution business. This role is ideal for someone in the early stages of their career who enjoys being organised, working at pace, and supporting a sales function β but who may also, over time, want exposure to the commercial and sales side of the business. This is a permanent, office-based role offering stability, training, and long-term progression for the right person.
The Role
The position is split broadly into two phases:
- Phase 1 β Core Sales Administration (initial focus)
- You will take ownership of a set of routine but essential daily tasks that keep the sales office running smoothly. Once fully trained, these duties typically take 2β3 hours each morning.
- Key responsibilities include:
- Processing sales orders and related documentation
- Managing delivery paperwork, proof of delivery requests, credits and debits
- Maintaining accurate customer and pricing records
- Supporting order flow and ensuring daily workload is under control
- Liaising with internal teams to resolve queries efficiently
- Once confident in the core admin responsibilities, the role naturally broadens to include:
- Managing the internal sales inbox
- Sending out samples and literature
- Supporting the sales team with customer queries and follow-ups
- Assisting with reactive customer issues and complaints
- Providing general sales support to help the team operate more effectively
Over time, there is genuine scope to become more involved with the sales side of the business, depending on performance, attitude, and interest.
Who This Role Would Suit
We are looking for someone:
- At an early stage of their career
- With some office, admin, sales support, recruitment, customer service, or internal sales exposure
- Who is organised, reliable, and comfortable handling routine tasks
- With good communication skills and confidence speaking to customers by phone and email
- Who wants to learn, develop, and be part of a team β not just βdo admin and go homeβ
- A background in recruitment, sales admin, internal sales, customer support, or commercial admin would work well.
This role is not suited to someone looking for a purely long-term admin position with no interest in progression.
What Weβre Looking For
- Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritise daily tasks
- Confident and professional communication style
- Comfortable using systems, email, and basic reporting tools
- Proactive, reliable, and willing to take responsibility
- Positive attitude and team-focused mindset
- SAP or CRM experience is useful but not essential β full training provided.
Salary & Benefits
Β£25,000 β Β£28,000 base salary
Discretionary bonus linked to performance
Stable, well-established business
Supportive team environment
Clear opportunity to progress into a more sales-focused role over time
