The Opportunity

Our client is a leading distributor of thermoplastic sheet, rod and tubing, supplying customers across the fabrication, engineering and signage industries. Backed by a global manufacturer of acrylic products, they offer a stable, professional working environment with excellent staff retention and strong long-term opportunities. Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an experienced Class 2 Multi-Drop Delivery Driver to join the team at their Darwen distribution centre.

The Role

This is a predominantly North West multi-drop role, typically completing around 10-15 deliveries per day. Responsibilities will include:

  • Completing multi-drop customer deliveries safely and efficiently
  • Delivering thermoplastic sheet, rod and tubing
  • Loading and securing the vehicle correctly
  • Assisting with unloading at customer sites
  • Providing a professional and helpful service to customers
  • Carrying out daily vehicle checks
  • Operating the tachograph system correctly
  • Reporting damages, discrepancies or delivery issues
  • Maintaining a clean and presentable vehicle
  • Assisting with warehouse and loading activities where required
  • Following all company Health & Safety procedures

The products can involve manual handling, so applicants should be comfortable with a physically active delivery role.

Route Coverage

Routes primarily cover the North West, with occasional journeys to Scotland, generally around once or twice per month, which can involve an overnight stay in a sleeper cab. A £35 night-out allowance is payable for sleeper-cab overnight stays. Flexibility around overnight travel may be considered for the right candidate.

What We're Looking For

  • Valid Class 2 / Category C licence
  • Driver CPC
  • Minimum 12 months' HGV driving experience
  • Previous multi-drop experience preferred
  • Experience driving 18-tonne vehicles
  • Good understanding of tachograph and drivers' hours requirements
  • Professional and customer-focused approach
  • Reliable and well organised
  • Comfortable with manual handling
  • Clean driving licence preferred
