We’re looking for a qualified accountant who brings solid technical knowledge, a strong understanding of royalty accounting, and the ability to hit the ground running in a fast-paced and collaborative environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and deliver accurate and timely monthly management accounts, including detailed P&L and balance sheet reporting
- Perform key balance sheet reconciliations, ensuring all variances are investigated and resolved promptly
- Support the month-end and year-end close process, working closely with wider Finance and Royalties teams
- Manage royalty accounting processes, ensuring contracts are interpreted and accounted for accurately
- Work with internal stakeholders to ensure royalty statements are correctly accrued, calculated, and paid
- Support the external audit process with detailed schedules and explanations as required
- Assist in improving internal processes and controls related to royalty reporting and revenue recognition
- Provide ad hoc financial analysis and project support to the Financial Controller and Finance Director
- Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent)
- Solid technical accounting knowledge, with proven experience of monthly reporting, reconciliations, and P&L ownership
- Prior experience working within the music industry or another royalties-focused environment is essential
- Strong understanding of royalty contracts and associated accounting treatments
- Excellent attention to detail, with a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Confident communicator, able to build relationships across finance and non-finance teams
