This is a broad and highly visible Financial Controller role offering the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and oversee the day-to-day running of the finance function within a fast-paced environment. This position will suit a hands-on finance professional who enjoys balancing both management accounting and operational finance responsibilities, while supporting the smooth running of the wider finance function. This is a 3-month temporary opportunity based in Oxford, offering hybrid working with 3 days in the office and 2 from home.
Key Duties:
- Producing monthly management accounts including P&L, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow reporting
- Managing month-end processes including reconciliations, accruals, and prepayments
- Managing cash flow forecasting, banking, and multi-currency payments
- Overseeing Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, and credit control activities
- Preparing VAT returns and supporting tax compliance
- Producing sales analysis and stakeholder reporting
- Driving process improvements and strengthening financial controls
- Supporting payroll preparation and liaising with external accountants
Key Skills:
- Fully qualified accountant or finalist level (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA)
- Available immediately or on a notice period of no more than 1 week
- Previous experience within a hands-on Financial Controller or Senior Finance role
- Strong management accounts and month-end experience
- Experience across Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using Xero
- Experience within a fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
- Able to commute to Oxford 3 days per week
