Job Description A leading international law firm is looking to appoint a Group Tax Accountant to join its finance team in London. This is a varied tax position within a complex, international organisation, covering areas including partnership tax, corporate tax, VAT, employment taxes and international compliance. The successful candidate will take responsibility for a broad range of tax compliance and reporting activities, working closely with senior finance colleagues, partners and external tax advisers. The role would suit someone with strong technical tax knowledge who is also comfortable working with accounting data, reconciliations and tax-related financial information. Manage day-to-day tax compliance and reporting requirements across UK and international entities. Coordinate the preparation of partnership and corporation tax returns and computations, working alongside external advisers. Prepare partner tax reserving calculations, tax payments and supporting communications. Work with the partnership accounting team on tax reserves and the annual partner statement process. Coordinate overseas corporate tax compliance and monitor relevant filing deadlines. Manage annual employment tax compliance requirements and assist with withholding tax and tax residence matters. Maintain and develop tax controls, governance and risk processes. Identify opportunities to improve tax reporting, controls and overall efficiency. Provide tax input into cash flow forecasting, intercompany matters and wider ad hoc projects. ACA or ACCA qualified with significant experience specialising in tax. At least 5 years' experience within a tax compliance-focused position. Strong working knowledge of UK partnership taxation, including partner profit allocations and tax reserving. Experience preparing or reviewing corporation tax returns and, ideally, VAT returns. This could include a law firm, accountancy practice, architectural practice, management consultancy, international LLP or another partnership-based professional services organisation. Strong accounting knowledge and confidence working with reconciliations, intercompany balances and large datasets. Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP or INDEX & MATCH, and data analysis. Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with senior stakeholders, external advisers and tax authorities and communicate technical tax matters clearly.
