We’re looking for an Interim Business Central specialist for ERP setup, processes, data integrity and testing. We are working with a Hertford-based client who is seeking an experienced Dynamics 365 Business Central specialist to lead and spearhead the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics Business Central across the business. This is a hands-on interim role, ideal for a contractor who has successfully delivered end-to-end Business Central implementations and can confidently take ownership of the project, working closely with senior stakeholders, finance, and operational teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and oversee the successful setup and configuration of Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central, ensuring the ERP is fully functional and fit for purpose.
- Ensure end-to-end business and finance processes are correctly mapped, configured, and working as intended within the system.
- Validate that data flows through the system cleanly and accurately across all relevant modules.
- Take responsibility for data integrity, including reconciliation, validation, and issue resolution.
- Identify gaps, weaknesses, or inefficiencies in current processes and system design, providing clear recommendations and solutions.
- Lead and coordinate system testing, including unit testing, end-to-end testing, and user acceptance testing (UAT).
- Ensure the system is thoroughly tested, stable, and fully operational ahead of go-live.
- Act as the key liaison between internal stakeholders and external implementation partners.
- Proactively manage risks, issues, and dependencies throughout the implementation lifecycle.
- Support go-live and immediate post-implementation stabilisation where required.
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience leading Dynamics 365 Business Central implementations (essential).
- Strong understanding of finance processes (GL, AP, AR, reporting, budgeting).
- Experience working with implementation partners and third-party vendors.
- Ability to operate at both strategic and hands-on levels.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, change-led environment.
- Previous interim/contract experience highly desirable.
Working Pattern
3 days per week on-site in Hertford.
