We’re working with a fast-growing tech company that’s scaling at pace and investing heavily in building world-class finance processes. They are now looking for a Transactional Accounts Manager to lead the Accounts Payable function day-to-day while also driving transformative projects to overhaul the way AP is run.
The Role
This is a role with two distinct but equally important parts:
- BAU Leadership – Oversee the smooth running of the Accounts Payable function, managing an experienced and capable AP Assistant. You’ll ensure suppliers are paid accurately and on time, processes run smoothly, and relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners remain strong.
- Transformation Projects – Lead a complete overhaul of the AP function, including:
- Selecting and implementing new expense tools/systems
- Defining and rolling out company-wide policies for expenses and travel
- Implementing a purchase order (P/O) system
- Driving automation across AP processes
- Building a scalable, efficient, and best-in-class AP operation
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and mentor the AP Assistant, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations
- Build strong relationships across the business to resolve queries quickly and effectively
- Oversee supplier onboarding, invoice processing, approvals, and payment runs
- Implement and embed new systems, tools, and policies to improve efficiency
- Automate processes to reduce manual work and speed up approvals and payments
- Own reconciliations of AP ledgers, ageing reviews, and vendor management
- Partner with the wider finance and treasury teams on cash movements and FX transactions
- Provide audit support and ensure compliance with VAT rules (including reverse charge)
About You
- Proven experience managing AP functions, ideally in a high-growth or evolving business
- Track record of delivering process improvements and implementing new systems
- Confident working with multi-currency transactions
- Clear, proactive communicator with strong relationship-building skills
- Driven, solutions-focused, and comfortable taking initiative to find better, faster ways of working
- Enjoys automation and building processes that scale
