An established Managed Service Provider (MSP) with a dedicated focus on the education sector is seeking a motivated and service-oriented IT Manager to take the lead in managing the ICT provision at a school site in Slough. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with both technical expertise and a passion for supporting teaching and learning through technology.

As the IT Manager you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, security, and optimisation of the school’s ICT infrastructure – including both curriculum and administrative systems. Working closely with the school’s Senior Leadership Team, you’ll play a key role in shaping and delivering IT projects that enhance educational outcomes.

This role involves communication between your school and the wider MSP team, excellent interpersonal skills are essential. You’ll also ensure that the delivery of services reflects the company’s high standards and commitment to excellence. A full, clean UK driving licence is essential for travel as needed.

Key Requirements for the IT Manager position:

  • At least 2–3 years’ experience in an IT Manager, Network Manager, or Senior ICT Consultant role within a school setting
  • Deep understanding of the unique IT needs and responsibilities in an education environment
  • Proven experience upgrading or managing a school’s ICT network and systems
  • Strong working knowledge of:
  • Microsoft 365
  • Physical & virtual server environments
  • Network infrastructure (switches, backups, security)
  • Experience providing 2nd/3rd line technical support
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to train and manage ICT support staff
  • Self-motivated, problem-solving mindset with a proactive approach
  • Key Responsibilities include:

    • Managing the school’s network infrastructure and ICT applications
    • Day-to-day operation and support of IT systems, ensuring prompt resolution of technical requests
    • Overseeing data backups, system updates, and ongoing network security
    • Supporting and training school staff to enhance digital confidence and capability
    • Collaborating with school leadership on long-term IT strategy and project planning
    • Line managing ICT support staff and overseeing quality of service delivery
    • Enforcing IT policies and procedures in line with school safeguarding and security standards
