We are seeking an experienced Accounts Manager to join a growing accountancy practice and support the leadership team in delivering high-quality client services across accounts, VAT, and taxation and managing staff. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice professional looking to take the next step in their career into a management role, combining client portfolio management and team leadership responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage a portfolio of clients, producing statutory accounts, VAT returns, and tax compliance work
  • Act as a key point of contact for client queries, providing professional and accurate advice
  • Mentor, train, and develop team members across accounts, VAT, and tax
  • Assist with workflow management, deadline monitoring, and internal process improvements
  • Support partners/directors with ad-hoc projects and client-related work

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years’ experience within an accountancy practice
  • Strong technical knowledge across accounts preparation, VAT, personal tax, and corporation tax
  • Previous experience supervising, mentoring, or training staff
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
  • Ideally ACA/ACCA or qualified by experience
