Our client, a rapidly growing and forward-thinking business based in Stevenage, is seeking an exceptional Head of Finance to lead their finance function and support the next phase of their expansion. This is a key senior position, offering broad exposure, autonomy, and the opportunity to shape the financial strategy of a dynamic organisation.
The Role
As Head of Finance, you will act as a strategic partner to the leadership team while ensuring the smooth and effective running of day-to-day finance operations. You will provide clarity, insight, and control across the business, helping drive sustainable growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the finance function, overseeing all financial operations, reporting, and compliance
- Develop budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning processes
- Produce high-quality management accounts, board packs, and KPI reporting
- Partner closely with the CEO / MD to support business strategy and decision-making
- Oversee cash flow, working capital, and treasury management
- Manage end-to-end audit, tax, and statutory requirements
- Drive improvements across systems, processes, and financial controls
- Support commercial activity including pricing, investment analysis, and scenario modelling
- Build and develop a high-performing finance team aligned to the organisation’s growth plans
About You
- Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA) with proven post-qualification experience
- Strong background in a Head of Finance, Financial Controller, or similar leadership role
- Experience in a growing or scaling business is highly advantageous
- Confident producing board-level reporting and presenting financial insights
- Commercially minded with the ability to balance strategic thinking and hands-on delivery
- Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills
- Systems-oriented with a continuous improvement mindset
