An SME Global Tech / SAAS business are in need of some help to get through year end prior to an exit.
The role is expected to last 3-5 months and will involve group accounts preparation across a small number of European entities.
This city of London based hybrid role is offered between £500-£550 p/day inside IR35.
You will need to be available on 2 weeks notice or less
Key Responsibilities
Year end close:
- Own the year end close timetable, preparing and reviewing year end journals, including accruals, prepayments, deferred income, provisions and depreciation
- Complete balance sheet reconciliations
- Prepare draft statutory financial statements in line with UK GAAP & IFRS
- Prepare disclosure notes, supporting schedules and working papers
- Prepare consolidation and intercompany eliminations where applicable
Audit and compliance:
- Act as the main point of contact for external auditors, preparing audit files and responding to queries promptly
- Support the preparation of corporation tax computations and VAT year end reviews, liaising with tax advisers as needed
- Identify and recommend improvements to close processes and controls
Person Specification:
- Qualified ACA or ACCA with 1-2 years PQE
- Proven experience delivering year end close and statutory accounts preparation, ideally in an interim or contract capacity
- Strong working knowledge of [FRS 102 / IFRS] and UK statutory reporting requirements
- Experience supporting external audits end to end
- Advanced Excel skills (lookups, pivot tables, reconciliations)
- Experience with [ERP / accounting system, e.g. NetSuite, Sage Intacct, Xero, SAP, Oracle]
- Able to work independently, prioritise under tight deadlines and hit reporting milestones
- Clear communicator, comfortable working with finance colleagues, auditors and non-finance stakeholders
