We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established and growing accountancy practice, for an Accounts Executive to join their expanding team in Nantwich. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced practice accountant looking to further develop their technical skills, manage their own client portfolio, and work within a supportive and forward-thinking environment.
The Role
As an Accounts Executive, you will be responsible for managing a portfolio of clients while delivering high-quality accounting services and maintaining strong client relationships. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing an allocated portfolio of clients and monitoring reporting deadlines
- Reviewing financial statements, working papers, and planning documentation
- Reviewing VAT returns and tax computations
- Reviewing management accounts and analytical processes
- Ensuring compliance with UK GAAP and internal procedures
- Attending client meetings alongside senior leadership where required
- Acting as a main point of contact for clients and responding to queries
- Identifying opportunities for additional services
- Supporting and mentoring junior team members
About You
- Fully qualified ACCA or ICAEW, or qualified by experience
- Previous experience working within an accountancy practice is essential
- Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and statutory accounts
- Experience with CaseWare and CCH (desirable)
- Excellent communication and client-facing skills
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage deadlines
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
- Team-focused with a proactive and collaborative approach
