Absolute Interpreting & Translations Ltd is seeking a highly organised, proactive and solutions-focused Compliance & Onboarding Officer to join our HR team. This is a fast-paced and strictly target-driven position responsible for taking candidates through the complete onboarding and compliance journey, from initial application through to being fully approved and ready to undertake assignments.
A key requirement of the role is to successfully onboard a minimum of 50 candidates per day. This includes ensuring candidates:
- provide all required identification, right-to-work and compliance documentation;
- complete references and any required background checks;
- are registered correctly on our systems;
- are allocated and complete the required assessments;
- complete mandatory induction and training;
- satisfy all applicable compliance requirements;
- are progressed efficiently to approval and activation.
The successful candidate must therefore be comfortable managing a high-volume pipeline, proactively contacting candidates by telephone and email, chasing outstanding documentation and removing unnecessary delays. However, we are not simply looking for someone who follows an existing process. The individual must be highly creative, commercially aware and independently solutions-focused, with the ability to identify recurring problems and ask: “Why does this keep happening, and how can I prevent it from happening again?”
You will be expected to identify bottlenecks, develop better processes and procedures, automate or simplify repetitive tasks where appropriate, and continuously improve the speed, quality and effectiveness of onboarding.
What we are looking for
- highly target-driven and comfortable being measured against daily performance;
- capable of successfully managing 50+ candidate onboarding cases each day;
- exceptionally organised and accurate;
- persistent and confident when chasing outstanding information;
- proactive rather than waiting for candidates or colleagues to take action;
- creative in solving recurring operational problems;
- capable of independently developing and improving procedures;
- confident identifying compliance risks and inconsistencies;
- comfortable working under pressure and prioritising a large workload;
- professional when handling confidential information;
- confident using Microsoft Office, databases and online systems.
Previous experience in HR, recruitment, compliance, onboarding, vetting or high-volume administration would be beneficial.
This role will suit you if... You enjoy targets, measurable results and taking ownership. You are someone who does not simply report a problem to management, but investigates it, proposes a practical solution and helps prevent it from happening again. If you prefer a slow-paced administrative environment, this role is unlikely to be suitable. If you enjoy working at pace, improving processes and seeing clear daily results, we would like to hear from you.
