We are seeking a reliable and experienced FLT Driver/Warehouse Operative to join our dynamic logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating forklifts safely, managing materials handling, and supporting warehouse operations to ensure smooth and efficient workflow. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with warehouse experience and mechanical knowledge to contribute to a busy Food Production Warehouse.
Duties:
- Operate forklift trucks and other warehouse equipment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
- Load and unload goods from lorries, containers, and storage areas efficiently and safely.
- Assist with the organisation and management of stock using the warehouse management system (WMS).
- Handle materials carefully, ensuring accurate stacking, storage, and retrieval of goods.
- Support shipping and receiving activities, including documentation and inventory updates.
- Conduct regular safety inspections of equipment and work areas.
- Assist with general warehouse duties such as picking, packing, and organising stock as required.
Qualifications:
- Valid Reach FLT Licence (Counterbalance in addition, would be an advantage) recognised by relevant authorities.
- Proven experience working within a warehouse environment.
- Knowledge of warehouse management systems (WMS) is desirable.
- Strong understanding of materials handling procedures.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently.
- Basic maths skills for inventory counting and documentation purposes.
- Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
