Absolute CNC Ltd is looking for an experienced CNC Miller to join its production team in Anslow, Burton-on-Trent.
About us
Absolute CNC is a subcontract machining business at Anslow Business Park, Burton-on-Trent. We produce precision milled components to a high standard, in materials ranging from Inconel, Hastelloy and Super Duplex to standard ferrous and non-ferrous metals.
Absolute is part of the Brown & Holmes Group, a family of precision engineering companies headquartered in Tamworth. The group has over 85 years of engineering heritage and serves customers in the nuclear, aerospace, defence and oil & gas sectors.
The role
- Set, program and operate CNC milling machines (Doosan, Fanuc control)
- Write and edit G-code programs at the machine and prove out new jobs
- Produce one-off and batch components to tight tolerances from engineering drawings
- Select appropriate tooling and workholding, and set feeds and speeds for each material
- Inspect your own work and keep accurate quality records
- Maintain a safe, clean and organised work area
Essential skills and experience
- Proven experience setting and operating CNC milling machines independently
- Fanuc G-code programming, including writing and editing programs at the machine
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Competent use of micrometers, verniers, bore gauges and height gauges
- Sound knowledge of cutting tools, workholding, and feeds and speeds
- Right to work in the UK
- Experience on Doosan machining centres
- Machining exotic alloys such as Inconel, Hastelloy and Duplex / Super Duplex
- 4th-axis or 5-axis experience
- Offline CAM programming
- Experience in the oil & gas, nuclear or aerospace supply chains
