A busy, active family of five are looking for a proactive, engaging, and warm Nanny to join their household ASAP. This is a "Mother’s Help" style dynamic; Mum will be home with the newborn, so we are looking for a teammate who can balance childcare for the two older children, helping with the newborn when needed and ensuring the smooth running of our family home.
The Family
- Children: Three children (Age 5, Age 3, and a Newborn arriving next week).
- Dynamics: The older two are very active and attend school/pre-school.
- Environment: A welcoming household looking for someone who feels like part of the family. The family value a "chatty and engaging" personality but also need someone who can maintain firm boundaries and structure for the older children, and has the ability to read the room and be discreet when needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Childcare: Providing high-energy engagement for the 5 and 3-year-olds (afternoons/school holidays) and assisting Mum with the newborn when required, including to help implement age-appropriate routines. Expect the role with the baby to become more of a focus over time, for example, attending baby classes, feeding, nap routines, weaning etc.
- House Maintenance: Proactively managing the "engine" of the home. This includes keeping shared areas tidy, kitchen maintenance (unloading dishwasher, etc.), and managing family laundry.
- School Runs: Assisting with drop-offs/pick-ups.
- Systems: Happy for the right candidate to implement their own organisational systems for laundry and tidying.
Candidate Requirements
- Experience: Junior to Mid-level, but must have some newborn or young baby experience with an eagerness to learn.
- Personality: High-energy, proactive (sees what needs to be done without a checklist), and a great communicator.
- Driving: A driver with their own vehicle is preferred (mileage/allowance to be discussed), though we are open to candidates comfortable using public transport/bus for school runs.
- Logistics: Must be comfortable working alongside Mum in a collaborative way. Candidate should like dogs, as family have one small cavalier King Charles spaniel.
Schedule & Compensation
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 07:30 – 17:30 (50 hours/week).
- Salary: to be negotiated.
- Type: Live-out.
- Start Date: ASAP / Immediate.
- Note: A weekly cleaner is retained for deep-cleaning duties; this role focuses on daily maintenance and laundry.
