A well-established precision machining client is seeking a Quality Inspector / Quality Manager. This is a great opportunity for an experienced quality professional to join a precision machine shop, ensuring machined components meet customer specifications, engineering drawings and industry standards.
You will play a key role in supporting continuous quality improvement by identifying defects, documenting findings, and working closely with machinists and engineers to resolve issues.
The role:
- Perform first article, in-process and final inspections on precision machined components
- Interpret engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Verify dimensions using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, verniers/calipers, dial indicators, height gauges, bore gauges, surface plates and CMM (as applicable)
- Document inspection results clearly using company documentation
- Identify and communicate non-conforming product and support root cause analysis
- Work with machinists and production staff to correct dimensional issues and feed back on quality trends
- Assist in maintaining the calibration and cleanliness of inspection equipment
About you:
- Proven experience as a Quality Inspector in a precision machining / engineering environment
- Confident interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Skilled with precision measuring equipment (micrometers, verniers, gauges, surface plates, etc.)
- CMM experience an advantage
- Strong attention to detail with a methodical, quality-focused approach
- Good communicator, able to work closely with machinists and engineers

- £20 - £23 per hour, with overtime available
- Monday - Thursday days plus an early Friday finish (2:30pm)
