The opportunity:
ABS Talent is recruiting a Quality Inspector / Quality Manager on behalf of a well-established precision machining client. This is a great opportunity for an experienced quality professional to join a precision machine shop, ensuring machined components meet customer specifications, engineering drawings and industry standards. You will play a key role in supporting continuous quality improvement by identifying defects, documenting findings, and working closely with machinists and engineers to resolve issues.
The role includes:
- Performing first article, in-process and final inspections on precision machined components
- Interpreting engineering drawings and technical documentation
- Verifying dimensions using precision measuring equipment, including micrometers, verniers/calipers, dial indicators, height gauges, bore gauges, surface plates and CMM (as applicable)
- Documenting inspection results clearly using company documentation
- Identifying and communicating non-conforming product and supporting root cause analysis
- Working with machinists and production staff to correct dimensional issues and feed back on quality trends
- Assisting in maintaining the calibration and cleanliness of measuring equipment
