Job Description
The Engineer I will perform engineering analysis assignments involving smaller, less complex projects under the supervision of an experienced engineer or engineering manager. These projects require the ability to apply conventional knowledge in a particular field of engineering and demonstrate the ability to gain, retain, and illustrate comprehension of additional knowledge shared by more senior engineers as part of a project team.
What You Will Do:
- Perform engineering review and analysis assignments under supervision of an experienced engineer or engineering manager.
- Apply conventional knowledge in a particular field of engineering.
- Review project plans to understand the scope, schedule, and assigned work.
- Prepare draft written documents, reports, and presentations for review by an experienced engineer or engineering manager.
- Develop an understanding of technical requirements and challenges, and provide suggestions to enhance effectiveness and efficiency in daily tasks.
- Participate in client and team meetings as required.
- Track and accurately report hours spent on projects.
- Collaborate with individuals at all levels, contribute to reports and deliverables, execute assignments, meet deadlines, and adapt to changing client demands.
- Perform Quality Assurance on project deliverables.
What You Will Need:
Education and Experience
- Entry level; work experience preferred.
- BEng. degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical Engineering or related disciplines; MEng/MSc. may be preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Knowledge of related technical disciplines.
- Ability to identify, analyze, and propose solutions to technical problems.
- Good command of the English language.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well with others.
- Willingness to learn about ABS Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental Management Systems.
Reporting Relationships:
- The incumbent reports to a senior engineer or technical manager. No direct reports are involved.
