We are seeking an experienced CNC Programmer with Hypermill and 5-axis programming experience for a well-established subcontract precision engineering business in Milton Keynes. Work in a modern, well-equipped facility with a varied workload and current kit.
Responsibilities
- Offline programming of 5-axis and 3-axis components using Hypermill (Open Mind)
- Work from customer CAD models and engineering drawings to produce efficient, optimised toolpaths
- Set up and prove out programs on Hurco machining centres
- Collaborate with the shop floor team to refine programs and improve cycle times
- Manage your own workload across a varied mix of subcontract components
- Maintain high standards of quality and first-off accuracy throughout
Qualifications
- Proven experience programming with Hypermill (Open Mind) — essential
- Strong 5-axis programming capability; 3+2 and simultaneous experiences both valued
- Familiarity with Hurco controls is a distinct advantage
- Ability to read and interpret complex engineering drawings and 3D CAD models
- A methodical, quality-first approach to programming and proving out
- Subcontract machining background preferred — comfortable working across different component types and materials
