Hours: Mon–Thu: 8:00–16:00, Fri: 8:00–13:00, Lunch: 30 mins (Mon–Thu)
Overtime: Time and a half for hours beyond contracted hours, Double pay for Sunday work
Looking to expand CNC machining team with an experienced CNC Miller, ideally with 5-axis experience, although strong 3-axis machinists will also be considered. This is an excellent opportunity to join a highly skilled precision engineering environment working on complex components for aerospace and high-spec manufacturing.
About the Role
You will be responsible for setting and operating a range of CNC milling machines, producing high-precision components to extremely tight tolerances. The role involves working with advanced materials including titanium castings, aluminium castings and Inconel, and using specialist tooling and measurement instruments. You will also work closely with the inspection department to ensure all parts meet stringent aerospace quality standards, including components manufactured for major customers such as Rolls-Royce.
Key Responsibilities:
- Set and operate CNC milling machines (3-axis and 5-axis)
- Work with Heidenhain, Siemens or Mazatrol controls
- Use indexing and rotary table functions (3+2 axis machining)
- Produce high-accuracy components to tight tolerances
- Use specialist tools, boring bars, jigs and precision measurement instruments
- Work from engineering drawings and inspection instructions
- Machine materials including titanium, aluminium and Inconel
- Assist with programming adjustments when required
- Maintain safe working practices and contribute to a high-quality workshop environment

- Correa Anayak (3+2 axis, Heidenhain 530)
- Correa Fox with UDX indexable head (Heidenhain 640)
- Bridgeport CNC miller
- Hedelius 5-axis
- DMU 5-axis
- Renishaw probing & laser tool measuring systems
Requirements:
- Experience as a CNC Miller in a precision engineering environment
- 3-axis experience essential; 5-axis experience highly desirable
- Ability to work to very tight tolerances
- Understanding of high-spec manufacturing (aerospace experience ideal)
- Strong ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
- Reliable, quality-driven and able to work independently
