Position Summary:
The security supervisor oversees assigned security employees who ensure the safety and security of the hotel guests and employees along with protecting the assets of the hotel. May work inside or outside property structures. Performs patrol duty as needed. Will complete and review reports or other administrative paperwork as required.
Job Duties:
Manage and supervise the day to day security force of the property to ensure the safety and security of all guests personnel and property while maintaining discretion and confidentiality.
Implement all policies and procedures regarding security and safety.
Design and implement preventive safety and security programs.
Prevent situations that could jeopardize the reputation of the hotel.
Investigate crimes committed against the hotel guests and employees.
Document all incidents occurring in the hotel in connection with crime potential liabilities and insurance requirements maintain objectivity and write comprehensive reports.
Assist hotel staff in handling of unusual guest or employee problems such as but not limited to disorderly conduct thefts suicides bomb threats employee or guest accidents fire or safety hazards robberies terrorist activities civil disturbance power or elevator failures medical assistance and natural disasters.
Train schedule coach and direct security personnel in all aspects of security policies and procedures.
Keep abreast of developments within the hotel and community as they relate to security as well as act as a liaison with local law-enforcement agencies.
Remain informed of current Federal and local laws and regulations as they relate to the hotel particularly in areas of guest patron and employee rights.
Take an active role in the development and implementation of the hotel\’s emergency plan which includes testing the hotel’s Emergency Response preparedness.
Take responsibility for all training related to the hotel\’s emergency procedures.
Control the key lock system alarm system and fire protection system.
Chair the Health and Safety Committees in the hotel.
Respond properly in any hotel emergency or safety situation.
Perform other tasks or projects as assigned by hotel management and staff.
Execute all tasks of a security officer.
Minimum Qualifications / Other Expectations:
Reading writing and oral proficiency in the English language.
Previous administration of persons in lifesaving or property protection situations.
Experienced in CPR first aid emergency response procedures
Ability to identify and deal with intoxicated/unruly guests mitigates escalation of behavior/situation.
Previous police security or military experience.
Working knowledge of Windows Microsoft Word Power Point and Excel.
Compensation:
Base Pay Start Rate: $26.00
