Your new role

Are you practical, friendly and proactive, with a passion for helping people feel safe and proud of where they live? We’ve got a great opportunity for you to join our Grounds and Estates team as a Handyperson. You’ll play an important role in keeping our communal areas and estates well maintained, as well as supporting our garages team with minor repairs when needed.

No two days are the same. One day you might be carrying out small repairs in shared spaces, the next you’ll be helping maintain the look and safety of our estates so customers can enjoy their surroundings with confidence. You’ll be one of the familiar, friendly faces of Abri, making a real difference to our communities every day. Our customers are at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we’re looking for someone who takes pride in their work, brings a positive “can‑do” attitude, and delivers a great customer experience every time.

You’ll keep customers informed, work safely and efficiently, and be part of a supportive team that looks out for each other. This is a varied and active role, so you’ll need to be comfortable with hands‑on work and confident using hand tools and basic equipment. Experience in domestic maintenance, estates services or housing repairs would be ideal, along with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.

You’ll use a tablet to manage your jobs and keep records up to date, so being comfortable with simple digital systems will help you succeed. A full driving licence is essential, as you’ll be working across the South East, including Berkshire, Buckinghamshire and Surrey, helping to keep our estates safe and looking their best.

We’ll provide your uniform, PPE, van and fuel card, along with the support you need to get started. You’ll just need to bring your own hand tools, a great attitude, and pride in doing a job well. From day one, you’ll also have access to Abri’s fantastic benefits, including 28 days holiday, a generous pension, life assurance and a great wellbeing package.

If you’re looking to be part of a team that truly cares about its customers and communities, we’d love to hear from you. We review applications as they come in and may close the advert early if we receive a high level of interest, so we’d encourage you to apply today.
