We are seeking a reliable and professional LGV Class C Day Driver to join our transport team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and timely delivery and collection of goods while providing excellent customer service and maintaining compliance with all transport regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out daily vehicle checks and report any defects promptly.
  • Safely operate an LGV Class C vehicle in accordance with road traffic laws and company procedures.
  • Complete scheduled deliveries and collections efficiently and on time.
  • Ensure loads are secured correctly and transported safely.
  • Accurately complete delivery paperwork and electronic records.
  • Maintain high standards of customer service when interacting with customers and site personnel.
  • Adhere to drivers' hours regulations, Working Time Directive requirements, and company policies.
  • Keep vehicles clean, tidy, and roadworthy.
  • Report any incidents, accidents, or delays to the transport office immediately.

Qualifications

  • Valid LGV Class C (Category C) driving licence.
  • Valid Driver CPC qualification card.
  • Valid Digital Tachograph card.
  • Good knowledge of UK driving regulations and drivers' hours legislation.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
  • Flexible and reliable approach to work.

Desirable Skills and Experience

  • Previous experience in multi-drop deliveries.
  • Experience using handheld delivery devices.
  • Forklift licence (advantageous but not essential).
  • Good geographical knowledge of the local and surrounding areas.
