Supporting a young man with autism and complex needs in his own home. Weekend shifts, sleep in and bank hours available.
We are looking for someone who:
- Is willing to be hands-on and have fun.
- Has a positive, caring attitude.
- Is organised, hard-working, flexible and resilient.
- Has excellent communication and observation skills.
You don’t need to have experience. Your personal qualities and values are more important to us. You will be supported with comprehensive shadowing and training from day one.
Day to day responsibilities:
- Making nutritional meals
- Trips out across Dorset in his own car, maybe a picnic or snack stop
- Personal care
- Computer play with Thomas the Tank/Bob the builder/Postman Pat videos. He is still a child at heart so enjoys his old cartoon clips and will act them out with his toys and your involvement.
- Arts and crafts, fancy dress and having fun
- Administering occasional medication
