You will be working as part of the Boning Hall team to ensure the needs of the business are met in a timely and effective manner according to the specification. You will be part of a fast-paced, proactive team liaising with colleagues and production departments and planning to ensure all deadlines are met as well as improving efficiency and developing current processes.
Position: Unskilled Trainee Butcher
Based in: ABP - Yetminster
Hours: Monday to Friday 6.30am to 5.00pm including 2 x 30-minute breaks
Reporting to: Boning Hall Manager

The role involves:
- Cut, trim and prepare lamb
- Ensure strict adherence to quality, animal welfare and ethical procedures
- Follow traceability process and ensure labelling integrity
- Comply with company policy and procedure on safe food handling and hygiene at all times
- Undertake any other reasonable requests made
- Meet standards and deadlines
- Seek training to maintain skills and remain up to date with best practice
- Carry out all tasks in a safe manner in accordance with attached H S responsibilities

The ideal candidate will demonstrate the ability to follow detailed operating procedures with a high degree of attention to detail. The candidate will follow instructions including those relating to personal health and safety and the wearing of PPE. General operative tasks require a substantial amount of physical ability and must be physically fit. A can-do attitude with good communication skills and a basic understanding of verbal and written English is essential.
