Overview
The role involves operating scanners according to procedures to ensure all products are scanned and any faults are reported to the External Export Chargehand immediately. The area must be kept clean and tidy at all times. Regular checks on produced products should be performed to ensure they are scanned so they appear on the palletisation report. The product must meet individual customer requirements.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all pallets, once scanned, are stacked correctly and safely and are securely pallet wrapped for placement in the freezer or tempering process.
- Re-label pallets that come out of the freezer for tempering with a 20-day life indication.
- Maintain daily counts of trays and pallets (including clean, dirty and broken) and report before 9.00 hrs daily to the External Export Chargehand.
- Maintain daily counts of pallet labels and OCM labels and report before 9.00 hrs daily to the External Export Chargehand.
- Check the quality of the product on delivery from New Zealand.
- Ensure primals are butchered to the agreed specification and that the appropriate yield/costings are conducted correctly and communicated to relevant personnel.
- Ensure all products are labelled to specification and monitor general product quality, advising department supervisors/managers of any issues.
- Compile non-conformance logs and take appropriate action.
- Carry out any additional duties reasonably requested by your manager.
- Adhere to current legislation with regards to safe food production and comply with health & safety rules to prevent/minimise the risk of accidents.
- Ensure that any product that needs re-ocming or reworking is returned to production immediately and not left until the end of the shift.
- Adhere to company hygiene practices and safe food production.
- Attend appropriate team meetings as required by the manager and participate in training in accordance with your personal training plan.
- Carry out any additional duties reasonably requested by the manager and be flexible to work at different sites.
- Ensure quality checks are carried out to agreed procedures and schedules.
Knowledge & Experience
The ideal candidate will have a background involving maintenance of a busy production line. The candidate should have good interpersonal skills and the ability to multi-task. Must be confident and a clear communicator in English. PC literate. A team player with the ability to be self-sufficient. Proven interpersonal skills.
